Rumored Venusians and contactees, ancient civilizations, UFOs, Yucca Man, Kokoweef and the river of gold.... Mummified residents, tunnels, a missing child and her decapitated searcher.... The Mojave Desert is a place where the mysterious has become commonplace. From grisly campfire tales and apocryphal history, to well-documented cases, Steve Brown—publisher of The Sun Runner and host of Southwest Stories—will discuss some of the scariest and craziest mysteries of the Mojave Desert.
Steve Brown is the publisher and editor of The Sun Runner: The Journal of the Real Desert, The Joshua Tree Tortoise Telegraph, The Palm Canyon Paradise, and The Joshua Tree Gateway Communities Visitor Guide. He's the host, writer, and executive producer of Southwest Stories on KVCR PBS TV. He has a weekly entertainment radio calendar show on KX 96.3 (hi-desert) and 92.1 FM (lo-desert) and is also a pirate musician, touring England twice with There Be Pirates! Mr. Brown is no stranger to Mojave mysteries; he once annoyed George Van Tassel with a description of a UFO encounter while exploring Giant Rock.
