The City of Palm Springs was incorporated in 1938 and is a charter city with a City Council/City Manager form of goverment.

As its governing body, the Palm Springs City Council is comprised of five members, including a separately elected Mayor. The Council is elected citywide. Currently serving on the City Council are Mayor Steve Pougnet, Mayor pro tem Rick Hutcheson, Ginny Foat, Chris Mills and Lee Weigel.

PS City CouncilThe City Council holds regular meetings on the first and third Wednesdays of the month beginning at 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way.

City Council agendas are available on the City's Web site after 5 p.m. the Friday before the upcoming Council meeting.

 

Televised coverage of all City Council meetings is presented live on local cable TV Channel 17 and video streamed on the Internet.
